Groom Speech Examples
Groom speech examples are something I never considered until I started to panic in the last few days before the wedding. However, with a bit of research you can find them online easily enough (or check out my free example) and they can be very useful in acting as a template for writing your own groom speech.
Finding Unique Examples
The good thing about groom wedding speech examples is that many of them allow you to fill in the “Blanks” and still create a reasonably tailored wedding speech. They work best by giving example layouts and prompts as follows:
- Start with “On behalf of my wife and I”…
- Thank the guests for joining you on this special day and for their gifts and support
- Thank the brides parents for their daughter and say that you will look after her well – present their gifts
- Thank your parents for being there and putting up with you all those years – present their gifts
- Thank the best man for being a friend all these years and how much he has helped (tell a joke if appropriate)
- Thank Bride – Your chance to publicly declare your love and friendship
- Thank the brides maids and maid of honor. Say what a great job they have done – present gifts
- Before passing over to the best man propose a toast to the brides maids…
That was basically the gist of what I found most of the groom speech examples to contain. You can find these examples in many places, but I thought it would be handy to have them here for you.
What you will also find with these examples is that they help you stick to the point and stop anyone nodding off! But don’t rush your speech either, it’s your day too remember and you should enjoy it. Just don’t dwell one topic for too long.
If you would like some proper groom speech examples you can check out my free groom speech page or go online yourself. You should find one you like but don’t forget to come back here for more tips and ideas on making it special and memorable.
